Yup. The most exciting thing all week was when this wood turtle wandered through the yard.We can hardly stand it ourselves. Then we get all distracted by cocktail hour. There was fresh salsa verde after all.

I showed Sophia this picture and she loved it, she once made me stop and pull over so she could get out of the car and see the swampy turtle that was slowly crossing an old farm road. So we think turtles are pretty exciting too :)
Well come on the NY, Gina. We have turtles and “lizards” just waiting for Sophia to come and hang out with them.
He’s very cute, Mom. What did Ri-ri think?
I stop and move turtles out of the road all the time Gina – we see them a lot because we have so many creeks around here. Glad Sophia enjoyed the pic.
Ellyn – Riley did not see this turtle because it was down near the garden, but he was not impressed with the one he saw last summer. I did take a toad away from him the other day though, and he checks the spot where it was about 500 times a day to see if it has reappeared.
Thanks for sharing your excitement with us. I’m excited too because I am, as we speak, (actually, typing) … I am eating your Creamy Dill Cucumber Salad that I made with my very own hands last evening from your recipe from Jul 7th, 2009 at at http://dlynz.com/?p=2476.
I think you shodul change the name to Dreamy Dill Cucumber Salad. You’ve got to try this folks!
Wow, this turtle takes me back to growing up in Georgia. My brothers and I would capture turtles, frogs, etc. and take care of them. They were everywhere!!! Of course, we never had dogs or cats ….. they were our substitues. Thanks for sharing, Donalyn.
