Fog

Until the warm temperatures this past weekend, we still had a lot of snow around. As the air warmed, it hit the cold snow and by midafternoon it was all dark and mysterious out.   It was invigorating somehow, that mixture of damp mist and strange light.“Derive happiness in oneself from a good day’s work, from illuminating the fog that surrounds us.” Henri Matisse

Just begging for a little post-processing fun too. “Like a man travelling in foggy weather, those at some distance before him on the road he sees wrapped up in the fog, as well as those behind him, and also the people in the fields on each side, but near him all appears clear, though in truth he is as much in the fog as any of them.” Benjamin Franklin

Not quite the warm air of spring, but you could feel time slipping through winter’s fingers – it can’t hold on much longer.
“Let us go in; the fog is rising.” Emily Dickinson

And go in I did – there was lasagna in there!

I had thought (just this morning) that I need to go shoot some shots of the fog I’ve been seeing in the mornings this week. Before it fades into summer. great pics.

Cool pictures! I often reminisce about the Upstate New York fog. It’s prettier there than it is in the midwest.

I was driving home from Ithaca in this weather on Sunday just pining to pull over and get lost in the fog of the hilltops, but it was pretty unsettling, too! It felt great to have such a shift in the weather, too. Your images are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. And your new blog layout is great!
