We were up in Watertown to visit the kids and grands this past weekend and I had completely forgotten that this month’s full moon was supposed to be so spectacular. So, there I was, without my tripod or wireless remote. Ah well.
Last evening, we all piled in the car for a field trip to this wonderland of a discount place up there called Ollie’s [HUGE glazed stoneware pots for under $25], enjoyed a fun dinner together and then after we got back home, Larry and I jumped in the van to look for a clear place, away from town lights, power lines and no trespassing signs, so I could get some shots. The edge of the window had to serve as a tripod, and I had to rely on my own steadiness, the lack of which is why I own a wireless remote in the first place. Not as nice as some I’ve seen but it was fun and as always, a full moon is an amazing reminder of how small we are down here. And we got back in time for grankid prayers and tucking in!
Beautiful, Donnalyn. Even without the tripod ~
Oh it’s gorgeous. Great shot!
Thanks ladies! :)
Wow! It looks great!
Thanks Trisha!
Wow! Spectacular photo! Wont be another supermoon for at least 18years, thanks for sharing your picture; feels like I’m looking at the actual sky, which is nice since it was too cloudy here that day. :-)
Huge glazed stoneware pots for 25bucks?? Jealous!!
that is freakin gorgeous!!!!!
Sorry you guys had to miss it Gina. This is one of those “it’s a small world” things: Ellyn was reading me your Facebook comments about the moon just before I went out to take those photos. And those pots are just amazing!
Thanks weezee ;)
We missed it because of clouds. :( Beautiful picture, tho!
I love it! Thanks for sharing it! Over the last year, I have developed a particular pleasure in watching the moon phases and relishing in the full moon phase. Unfortunately, it was cloudy here the night of the Super Moon but the next evening was very clear and we enjoyed a nice after dark walk in the moonlight! Also, wish I could have gone to Ollie’s with you! I would love that too!
Mark
Beautiful!
I, on the other hand, went, saw and did not conquer that old moon shot. Blurry blurry blurry!
Glad you got to see it the night after Mark – I’m not sure there was all that much difference- what’s a million miles one way or the other?
Ann – I took 1000s of blurry ones before I got it figured out, so don’t give up!
