The evil squirrel descends the tree, humming tunelessly under his breath“Hmmmm – look at all that yummy seed down there.”” There must be a way to get to it.” “I hope no one notices me out here.” “It’s kind of tricky.” “If I could just get down there on that bar.” “Maybe over on this side.” “Whoa! Kinda slippery.” “Oh yeah – that’s what I’m talkin’ about!” “Yum. Yum yummy yum yum.” “What the …?” “The darned thing nearly took my nose off!” “Rats. What happened?” “Must be broken or something.”“Bah! How does this thing work?” “Oooooof!” “I give up. This is way too much trouble for me.” “I’ll just go back down here.” “I can always count on the chickadees to leave me a little something.”

thats the FIRST one i have ever seen working!!!! must get one like it … where did you find it??? love the pics!
LOL what a cute series! love that you got them all in a timeline.
Love it…love it…love it!
How does that work? Does the weight of the squirrel make it retract?
Brilliant!
I want that feeder.
Poor guy was just hungry.
Cute shots.
The fact that you understand what the squirrel is thinking amazes me! Love the photos though!
That is one GREAT bird feeder!
(Kind of pathetic, though, that we all derive so much satisfaction from outwitting a rodent. I’m just sayin’.)
xoxo,
Mary
That was great! You could not have asked for better posing either.
aww.. what a cute squirrel
Serves him right. Rat with a cute tail.
Chalk one up for the birds!
That is dang awesome.
Poor little tree rat! You haven’t lived until you have greased up the middle section of a shepherd’s hook thingie that has a bird feeder hanging off it. Hours of fun watching the confused little tree rats scurry up the pole, hit the grease and go sliding down. They try it over and over and over before they give up. Then their stewpid cousin Clyde comes up to give it a try.
That is the meanest contraption I have ever seen! I’m reporting you to the local chapter of Squirrel’s Need Food, Too.
LOL! Great pictures! This was like watching national geographic!
sigh…I so love reading your stories and enjoying your photos.
I think your blog could be my full time job and I can easily lose track of time as I catch up on all of your posts. I just feel good when I can get in one post a week on my own blogs inbetween lesson plans and writing.
