101 years – can you imagine living so long? Even if you can, I doubt there are many people who have done so with the same vigor as Grandma. I am not exaggerating when I say I wish I could remember stuff as well as she does. She is a remarkable person and I am so glad she decided to spend the past few months up here, so that we were able to spend some much appreciated time together. We spent the afternoon yesterday with her and my aunt and uncle, which is when I took this pic with my droid. Grandma is homesick though, so tomorrow my cousin is taking her back home to North Carolina, where she still lives in her own house, next door to my other aunt and uncle. My aunt wrote down some of her memories to send to all of us and she included all of Grandma’s descendants: 3 children, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren – 55 in all. I am privileged to be one of them. You might like this post that I wrote about both of my Grandmothers a few years back, when I had more time for writing. God bless and many happy returns, Grandma!

Happy Birthday, Grandma.
Wow! How precious and amazing! (May here longevity genes be passed down to all her beloved offspring!) I was wondering how you got this picture until I read your post. Wow! I bet she is ready to go home. I would imagine it’s a little milder in NC! She’s been in New York for some doozies! Probably makes her “remember” why she doesn’t live there anymore!
WOW. Grandma looks amazingly young for her age. You’ve got some great genetics in your favor!
Simply amazing. And awesome.
What a blessing to have a grandmother like that. I hope she had a wonderful day.
What a blessing to still have her in your life. God is good.
Wow! Happy Birthday to a beautiful Lady!
Happy Birthdday to your Grandma! What stories she must be able to tell!
