That looks awesome!
Yummy! I love pumpkin cake and adding chocolate chips . . . even better!
I would love a huge hunk of that right about now!
Hi Ben – thanks!
Trisha & MPM – so glad to see you ladies show up. I wish I could hand you both a nice big chunk of it :)
Yums! My mom made a version of this back in November. Her version was baked in a rectangular cake pan and the final product was cut into 2×2 inch squares. “This would be really awesome with cream cheese frosting,” I noted as I shoved a third serving into my mouth. It turns out the recipe called for that but my mother didn’t think it was necessary. Am I good or am I good?!?!?
PJ – you snuck right in there while I was posting. I debated about drizzling this with an orange-y cream cheese glaze, but I am making an effort to enjoy things with fewer ingredients [read: calories]. I usually regard cake as more or less an excuse to eat frosting. A nice little pool of cream anglaise under the cake would not go amiss, and neither would a drizzle of chocolate fudge over the top. Alas – my days of eating that stuff without guilt are over. And about 10 years too late I might add…
Pumpkin and chocolate is such a yummy combination. Your cake looks awesome! I’ve been on a serious pumpkin kick, it’s a year-round ingredient for me.
Glad to see you back here, I thought you were gone too.
That cake looks delicious! I love pumpkin anything!
The first time I heard it Tracey, I didn’t think I was going to like it, but I was totally wrong about that. Pumpkin and winter squash are some of my favorite flavors all year too.
Hi Lorna – thanks for the welcome back!
So we will be there in two weeks. And I don’t like beer. So how about you whip up another batch of this fab stuff for me. Come on!! Oh alright. I will even say please. PLEASE!!!!!
Just printed it … in lovely color I might add … can’t wait to try it!
That cake looks incredibly moist and deliciously dense. I love that pumpkin chocolate combo and it looks like the chocolate chips didn’t sink to the bottom, like they usually do in mine. Sounds like a good cake to me. I have a new linky on my blog called “Sweets for a Saturday” and I’d like to invite you to stop by and link this up. http://sweet-as-sugar-cookies.blogspot.com/2011/01/sweets-for-saturday-1_21.html
