Those are some very pretty pictures, did you take them yourself? Are they of your own garden? Thanks for the little spring pick me up, I could use it, too! It is snowing here today in Chicago (again) and it’s getting a little old!
I was reading your potato salad recipe, it sounds really good, but I’ve never heard of it before, sorry! When I read the title I thought it was going to be a german potato salad recipe, that’s the only potato salad I’ve had warm.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving your nice comments! I love meeting new people! Hope you’ll stop by again soon! I’ll be back to see what you’re up to, too!
Yes, I feel much better! Mainly because I just know in my heart you did the bonus post for little ‘ol me! I am smiling now. Lest you feel too bad for me, I am going home tonight to homemade split pea soup, made with the left over Sunday dinner ham hock. MMmmm!
I also have to say, I neglected to see that there was humor in the recipe post ……. Spam!
My best guess on the Spam state is Florida ….. a lot of senior citizens there.
I’ll look forward to the very funny posts later in the week. I hope I don’t snort when I’m eating my lunch. ; )
One more thing….. you’re getting really good with that SRL. You’ve got me wanting one. I was reading in Conumer Reports about them this week. I can’t afford that right now, though.
Lizzy – I did take them and yep, they are in my very own gardens. I am really glad that you like them.
Paige – I actually really love winter, but every so often I have to remind myself that there is another season coming.
Mark – sorry, you are wrong about Florida. [you are welcome to play again though] And I took these pics last summer before I got the SLR – they were taken with the Nikon 5600. I couldn’t afford the SLR either – we have been living on peanut butter and jelly ever since I bought it. Come by next Tuesday for the recipe!
Arizona? no wait …….New York? (better not be Missouri!)
Yah, I knew today’s pictures were preSRL but all the ones you’ve posted lately, especially the latest sparrow one is awesome!
If you could just take technolgy to a new level …… each time you post a recipe, I can reach in and taste a sample. You like things like I like …. couscous, chicken, bread, I even like quiche …. (and you know what that means.) It’s so frustrating to not be able to taste them.
I can’t believe you encouraged me to comment one last time today. I feel like that family member that everyone is afraid of what they will say next. ; ) …. your’e a good sport.
Dyln, I have hostas on one side of my house. When they died in the fall I cut them down, but not all the way. Was this OK? I wasn’t sure what to do, but they looked so bad! My garden wants to be your garden when it grows up!
Thanks Lori – and yes that is exactly the right thing to do. I cut mine back to the ground in the fall, or even sooner if they start looking too tattered. They’ll be back in the spring, though some kinds are rather late to emerge, making you think that they are dead – just give them a little more time.
I just love, love, love Hosta! I have a few in my yard (they don’t do the best here in Texas) – and I love them. Thanks for the bit of Spring – see ya. Kellan
I do feel better–thank you so much. That is a great hosta. I’m looking forward to hostas too! I posted a photo of my garden plot-in waiting, yesterday. It’s not very inspiring, yet. Thanks for sharing. I’m looking forward to sharing my daylilies with you this summer. What are your thoughts on climbing roses? I want to put one on the front of my house.
Hey, just returning the favor and checking out your blog. I LOVE the photography. Cannot wait to have a little container garden this year. I’m so ready, although we have barely had a “winter”, it’s been dreary and no green to be had!
i just love your photos. they lift my spirits as i look. what kind of slr are you shooting with and what kind of lens? that is if you don’t mind me asking. i purchased my first slr a few months ago and am loving it. i can’t wait to get outside and take more photos. i am having a bit of trouble with the lighting in doors. i have a lot to learn!
Thanks for commenting on my blog. I am with you, I am so ready for some sun and flowers growing. Weeding isn’t my favorite thing but the weeds seem to be taking over and the ground is too frozen to pull the darn things. How can that be? Sunshine can come anytime now.
Thanks for coming along and posting on my blog :) I have indeed updated it, and you’d hope I would! Chocolate Self-Saucing Pudding is the latest recipe, along with a personal post.
LOVE the flowers! No snow here, just lots of summer leaves and flowers :)
Amy, I have been using a Nikon D70 since January – but these garden pics were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 5600 last summer. Glad you like them – they make me feel good too.
Yes! Yes! I do feel better now that I’ve seen this. I love hostas.

There's a new blog in town, and eventually everything from here will be moved over there.
You don't have to wait though - go and check it out now! The Creekside Cook

Oh that looks like heaven right now. I can’t wait.
I’m enjoying the snow but that second picture made me smile and ache for the summertime.

Well I do have the ultimate power over comments Mark – I can delete them if you say something that makes me go “What the….!” :)

Those are pretty, but I must confess that I am slightly jealous. I have not seen a single snowflake this winter. Thanks for vising my page.
Ooo…lurvely! I love hostas. I’ve got crocus on my mind at the moment though. I can’t wait to see them poking up through the snow.
I’m thinking of that song “lovin you is easy because you’re beautiful” (er…before it gets to the screechy part). I’m in my happy place.
I soooo needed that!

Pics of greenery and flowers was a nice pick me up on this icy Wednesday morning. Thanks!
