Slightly fewer words Wednesday

Some shots from this past week.

This is next to the creek runs along the bottom of our land.

A storm blew this branch over into our field a couple years ago, so Lar had to go saw it off. I love the colors.

These are of the same Downy Woodpecker. I couldn’t choose, so here are both of them.

A snowy weed – Queen Anne’s Lace I think.

This is from a transmission – it is hanging on the side of the shop. When I asked Larry why it was there, he said “because”. Nice colors.

It is difficult to find anything that is not brown or grey or white this time of year. These are rose hips from the wild roses that grow everywhere here.

Got these up here finally – it is very windy today and I lost power twice while working on this entry. Guess I better go fill up some water jugs just in case.

You do a great job capturing the color of an otherwise dreary winter.
I love your husband’s “art work”.
    Happy WW.

reading your blog was a true early morning treat for me! i could not find your profile so i just read the post of 31 things about you and cackled!

as far as the photo above of the transmission plate…dontcha just love “because” as a reason? it is one of my favorite responses to give hubby.

day lilies – oh my! i love them, too, and you have some gorgeous ones. we have many different varities, too, but yours are remarkable. we divided several varieties last summer and accidentally gave all of our deep purple lilies with lavendar throats to our neighbor instead of a mix of several different kinds. guess we will be busy retrieving a few. :(

so glad to see these yummy recipes – i’ll be back for sure!

CG – does that mean I have to do another round of deep self-examination to find 6 more quirks about me? And tag 6 more victims too? Next week – I promise!

I miss trees and birds. Did you know we don’t have those in Idaho? I swear, there is only one tree in my entire neighborhood. It’s depressing. I love looking at your photos. They remind me of Connecticut.

Thanks so much everyone – I am glad that you enjoyed the pics. We do get tired of winter by the time it really goes. Last year the weather was cold and awful right through May. Still, I do love the snow and the cold weather makes us appreciate the other season a whole lot!
