A Saturday morning painting

Just a little something I whipped up this morning in my state of the art studio

Actually, I saw Donna Boucher demonstrate a similar technique on Pioneer Woman Photography yesterday. Very cool and it turned this quite badly flawed photo into something I really like.

Have to get out and get some gardening done this morning, but later on today I will be back with a Saturday afternoon bonus recipe using some of the fresh green beans our garden has churned out this week. Hope you are painting a great Saturday morning

Shots that didn’t make Skywatch

My Skywatch Friday shot is in the next post down – this post is about where creativity meets reality. In looking back through some photos from a couple weeks ago, I ran across some I took with Skywatch in mind. I had this great idea that since the kids and grands were down for a couple days, that I should include some of them in my offering for that week.

Ellyn and Jason went up to the farm to pick blueberries and Anna was taking her nap, so Mark I went out to see what I could come up with in terms of a good shot of the sky. I had this great idea to have him stand near the front flower beds and look up, so that I could catch the flowers, the grandson and the sky in a pleasing arrangement.

“Ok Mark, Grandma needs you to help her take some pictures. Can you stand right here and just look up at the sky for me?”HmmmmmmmmGuess I need to think about this a little more.

I eventually ended up with the shot in this post, but these tickle me a whole lot more!

Time for Skywatch Friday. Follow the link to take a tour of skies from all over the world.

I was thinking that I really ought to go someplace farther afield for this week’s shot but then we had this last night. Cocktail hour on the front porch:

Just-about-almost-Wordless Wednesday

All from the shade garden this morning. A big contrast from the riot of color in the sunny spaces, out back we have subtle color and texture.

One of my favorite astilbes, “Sprite”The slugs have not been bad this year, so this Kabitan hosta still looks nice.Japanese Painted Fern – gets nicer every year. The airy flowers are “Palace Purple” coral bells alongside a trailing coleus.

have a great Wednesday!
