Golden, sweet morning light. It lends an extra glow to this Helenium. This Chipping Sparrow turns to catch it in his eye.Morning Glory – nothing more I need to say about that I guess. This is a tough week. I swore I was going to avoid the 9/11 anniversary coverage, and try not to get tangled in reliving those emotions, but I got sucked in. The news from my hometown and the surrounding area, as the flood waters recede, fills me with disbelief and sadness. But a walk in a sunny garden can do a lot to restore a person, and I’m incredibly grateful today for the new mercy each morning when the sun comes up.

There's a new blog in town, and eventually everything from here will be moved over there. You don't have to wait though - go and check it out now!

So sorry to see the coolest small town in America covered in water. Luckily, the human race is pretty stubborn. No doubt the town will be brought back to life in quick order.
You lovely photos will no doubt help many recover from thoughts of ten years ago.
“the new mercy each morning”-
dlyn-that is so beautiful and so true thank you
I too had many mixed emotions about the 9/11 coverage and seriously thought about avoiding it all, as it was such a painful time personally and nationally. Yet, I too got drawn in as time allowed. It is important to remember, though painful it is. The thing that impressed me the most was seeing the new memorial. The footprints of the two towers with the waterfall are so beautiful, profound and meaningful! What an honor to those who died and for those that have a place to mediate, pray and remember! For many families that is the graveyard. The waterfall looks like endless tears falling and yet falling water is soothing and peaceful!
Thanks for turning our thoughts to the blessings! Wish I could walk with you in the garden … maybe someday!
Thanks for the uplifting photos and thoughts. A good tonic for this weary body and soul.
Yes, I really got down after watching all the 9/11 coverage. It seems like yesterday.
The fires in TX were a block away from my cousins house. If only we could redirect that water so your town wouldn’t be flooded & it could be used in TX!!
I know what you mean about the 9/11 coverage… it was difficult for me too. But I’m commenting more because I wanted to say…
“Holy heck! That blue flower is really blue!” Lovely picture, lovely post.
