I, for one, still like it. Tasty stuff.

…Oh this looks so good! And I didn’t know you could freeze it, I always canned it before. We used to have apple trees out back but the one year we had a terrible freeze in the Spring and it heaved all of our apple trees but one. We tried to stand them upright and staked them but unfortunately they didn’t make it. It was the oddest thing to walk out around the back of the barn and there were our apple trees all leaning over with the root balls heaved up out of the ground… So sad. :o\

    …Blessings… :o)

  3. Oh how I loved it when my mother made this. Maybe I need to now….

Having been married in an apple orchard, apples are near and dear to my heart. Every year we go apple picking, and the first thing I do when we get home is make homemade applesauce. I make mine in the slow cooker…the aroma throughout the house is intoxicating. I feel ya.

Wow tj – that would really bummed me out too. We keep saying we are going to plant some furit trees and never seem to get around to actually doing it. I think it tastes better when it is frozen as opposed to canning too.

You should MPM – well worth the effort.

Sounds great Amy – I have never tried the slow cooker method, but maybe I will will, just for fun.

Anna – lots of cheap apples around here still!

Oh, this looks so good! It’s been a long while since I made applesauce. And I really want a big bowl right now, thanks to you. :-) …Susan

I used to make applesauce for supper-but freezing it in batches is smart thing to do. Never used sugar at all….
