Lauren’s home photo – her favorite flower, the common ditch lily. Actually it is Hemerocallis Fulva but everyone around here calls them ditch lilies. And though I have a lot of daylilies fancier than these are, there is still nothing prettier than a really nice patch in full bloom. This patch is at the Sacketts Harbor Battlefield on Lake Ontario.
But this one is from the patch she loved since she was little – on the creek bank in our side yard.
Happy Sunday Lauren!
I love the cheerful color of a patch of these. I have a bunch in the very back of my yard.
they are just beautiful to me …
They are so beautiful! We used to have tons of these around here, but I guess development has taken it’s toll. I can’t grow any of the cultivated ones, because the deer seem to think that they are what’s for dinner.
Thanks for stopping by my new blog. It’s really just a sort of experiment, born from one of those 3am hot flashes…
Hope your weekend was fun!
xoxo,
Mary
