Obviously I am running out of word plays on the Wordless Wednesday concept.
We have more juncos than any other bird – so much so that they seem too ordinary to photograph. One advantage of having so many of them though is that they get used to us being outdoors and I can get a lot closer to them. This one was telling me to step off the feeder and be quick about it.
I didn’t plant this daffodil – it came up a good twenty feet from the closest flowerbed and I have no idea where it came from. I did plant this one – a lovely all white once it opens all the way.You can practically sit outside and watch the leaves come out on the trees. These leaves are on one the many wild chokecherry bushes that border the creek.I sit on the back porch to take photos of the birds. I heard this guy calling right up over my head and I was just glad he didn’t poop on me.I have tons of photos of daffodils from the past two weeks but this is one of my favorites – one in vase that Mark picked to bring in for his Mom. Being out in the flowerbeds with him reminded me of this dream I had before he was born.Lots of daylilies coming up everywhere.People oooh and aaah over male cardinals, but I think the females are even prettier a lot of the time.
Be sure to check back later – I am determined to figure out a way to get those silly cows to give up the life they are leading now and come into the house where cows belong!
Great pics. I really like the daffodil one.
Looking forward to a bovine update!
=)
D…
LOVE ALL the pics… You are having a blast I can see!!
All of our Juncos and Goldfinches are up to your place. It is so interesting that by the time the Goldfinches get here in the early winter they are so dull looking with just a hint of yellow on them so I have never seen them in their summer plummage.
LOL on Fred and Bessie…. I am surprised there wasn’t a “cow tipping” incident yet. LOL
Thanks for the hosta info the other day. Can you send me that link again. I lost it before I got it copied into my organizer. You can PM it to me on YUKU. TIA
Have a VERY blessed day with those kids and critters.

I LOVE your pictures, almost as much as your stories.
I like all the pics here, but the one that I especially enjoyed was actually the one of the daylillies! I was looking at mine the other day and thinking “now who is it that loves these?” And then I said out loud: Dlyn! My husband said, “what?” He just doesn’t understand.
great shots. it is amazing to see how quickly things are starting to really zoom to life this time of year.
perhaps I will go do some shots of life happening here today as I am uninspired today and need to come up with a project 365 pic. It’s too nice to ‘try’ to shoot today.
Thanks Ashleigh – I hope that I can spot them soon. Do you get daffodils in FL?
Cheryl – glad you like the pics – what linsk was I giving you? We talked about bluestoneperennials.com I think? They have a pretty good selection of hostas.
humorandfaith – thanks! I love your stories ;)
CG – that is one of my faves too. I meeseda round with it quite a bit to bring out the textures – fun!
PG – I love the pic you have today of the peonies – beautiful!
The females are definitely prettier. They are more complex and subtle.

I’m with you – I love the female cardinals! As for the daffodil in questions, you can probably blame a squirrel…
You have such great flowers and our tulips aren’t out yet. Worse it’s supposed to snow next Monday.
I missed the daffodils when I lived in Florida. Yours is beautiful.
Yeah! Get the cows into the house! Where all cows … belong … yeah.
I love the daylily one, such beautiful greens.
Gorgeous pictures, but I am more moved by your dream story. That really made my heart smile! What a blessing to have a vision of your sweet grandson!
Love that lily shot too! It’s all that wonderful green and the edges and the lines … Ahhhhhh … :D
