Despite my utter distraction with small people and despite the fact that I seem to have been infested with germs by certain persons who shall remain nameless and are forgiven, I did manage to get a few nice shots this week.
In the summer, bamboo is my sworn enemy. It is invasive and nearly impossible to kill. In the winter though, the stalks take on lovely subtle colors and forms:
No Wednesday can go by without a shot of a bird:
This time of year, our little creek runs nearly all the time. It is literally just a few feet from my back door. We are in the late winter thaw – freeze cycle which yields images like this:
And this:
Finally, another frequest visitor. A friend gave us some peanuts to put out near the birdfeeder and this guy found them right away:
Hmm, I thought bamboo couldn’t grow in cold climates. Oh well, now I know! The photos are beautiful.
I’m having a cranky, pms-ing, stressed out day. Scratch that – month. Your beautiful pictures were a well needed respite from my chaos. Thanks for sharing them.
Thanks for sharing the photos! The squirrel is my favorite!
Beautiful job Dlyn!
=)
I can’t believe the squirrel beat the bluejay to the peanuts! It’s always a fight at my place.
Love the photos…man, am I glad it’s almost spring!
Love these photos. It’s getting warmer here in Maryland.
Oh the widdle squirrel is so cute! I’m so glad they don’t come into my yard. :)
Why do pictures of YOUR birds thrill me yet when I see them at my house I don’t get all excited!!
Even your squirrels look better than mine!
Hallie :)
Gorgeous! I wonder: if I put out peanuts, will the squirrels stay off of the bird feeder? I look out hoping to see a bluejay or redbird and I see two fat squirrels!
Feel better!
So pretty…I feel like I’m visiting your backyard. Love the bird and the squirrel! And that ice leaves me shivering!
What lovely photos! I’m jealous you got a squirrel too, I can never get a good shot of the ones playing in our yard.
