Winter found us

We are having the weirdest winter ever.
In fact, we are having an un-winter.
People from way down south came to visit for Christmas, and did they get to make a snow man or sled down our hill?
No, they did not.
And then we get some snow finally, but does it stick around to insulate my garden from the cold?
No, it does not.
It melts in the rain we get when the temperature is back up in the 40s.
In January! In upstate NY!
Now today, when it is in the single digits, there is no snow to protect my poor daylilies.
Bah-humbug I say!

But we did have a few hours of winter the other day and this little Tufted Titmouse came by for a snack. I caught him waiting his turn at the feeder. He was glad to finally see winter get here too I think.

Nice! Thanks for sharing! (and thanks for not filtering me in that Spam filter … though I know the thought has crossed your mind!) : )-

I don’t know exactly how a spam filter works, but so far, you can’t set it to exclude cousins. ;)
