Dear Donalyn – thanks so much for sending me the link! I really enjoyed reading your blog, and of course I’m thrilled that ‘Distant Planet’ has done well for you. It was very much an accidental find – it was a seedling that did extraordinarily well in my garden, and after several years it sort of dawned on me that this wasn’t what usually happened here with crocosmias. It continues to be one of my favorite plants.
Warm regards,
Ellen
Whooo! I love that color, Donalyn. Unfortunately, with my brown thumb, I think I’ll let the poor thing just live in your garden, where it’s safe from being murdered by me. I don’t mind living vicariously through your blog, LOL.
Thanks to Ellen for letting me share her comment here – she is such a nice and gracious person!
Hey Roberta – nice to see you & you are welcome to tiptoe through my garden anytime :)
These things were in the garden when I moved into my current house. I have done absolutely nothing on their behalf and they keep coming up and blooming anyway! I never knew what they were. Thanks for the info.
Glad to be of service Janie & glad that you stopped by!
I have Distant Planet, too! It made it through last winter just fine.
