So, the other morning, I am having my coffee and I realize that once again, someone is staring at me.
Me: Can I help you with something? Hey – nice bandana!Riley: Thanks, I got it on eBay.
Me: You got it on eBay? It looks like the one Dad put in the rag bin the other day because it ‘s too small.
Riley: Whatever. Did you see this box? It has my name on it!Me: Does it? That is rather unusual – lets take a look. Hey – here’s a card in it.
Riley: It says it’s from Gus and Rosie.
Me: Gus and Rosie?
Riley: Yes – they live with Daryl down in New York City. We met from her blog. Me: You met from her bl….never mind. What’s in there?
Riley: It smells really good in here.Riley: Mmmmm. Cookies! I love cookies!Riley: Wow – cookies all the way from NYC – just for me! Is that cool or what?
Me: It is pretty darned cool.Riley: Can you help me out here? I don’t have thumbs you know.
Me: Sure – let me get you one. Riley: One???
Me: Yes, one for starters. We have to make sure they agree with you. They might give you gas.
Riley: I don’t mind if I get gas.
Me: I mind though – a lot! So we will stick to just one for now.Riley: These are so good. Hey! The bag is empty! Why is the bag empty?Me: I put them in the cookie jar. You can have more in a little while.
Riley: Are you sure they are in the cookie jar?
Me: Of course – where else would they be?
Riley: Well….maybe you ate them?
Me: No, I didn’t eat them. I have like 600 pounds of Christmas cookies around here still, so I don’t need to eat your cookies.
Riley: Yeah – about those Christmas cookies…
Me: Never mind about them them, bud – people cookies aren’t good for dogs. Not good for me either, because people cookies definitely give you gas!
Riley: I was only trying to help. You just can’t be nice to some people.
Riley: Whoa! Did you hear that?
Me; Now lets not start that again!Riley: Well I thought I heard something. Anyway – thanks Daryl and Rosie and Gus – you guys are the best!
Riley, Daisy likes cookies. She is coming this weekend too. Just thought you should know.
Awwwww. Made my day.
:)
Oh riley you are so adorable!
awww cute puppy and how fun for riley to get treats in the mail! what a thoughtful sweet gift :)
Yeah, Riley! You are looking sharp with that bandana!
Oh I love him … I want to kiss his nose and hug him and then steal him away.
I hope the cookies didnt give him gas, Jessica, the nicest cookies for dog maker ever, told me they are made of all natural ingredients AND she said HUMANS try them all the time!
Riley, I love you and if you ever come to NYC Gus and Rose would love to have you come meet them in person … they like dogs a lot.
Awww – look at that FACE!!! The bandanna from Ebay is really cool, too. Mom, why won’t you give him people cookies? He’s already told you he doesn’t mind having gas!
That Riley has the best doggy ears ever!
I love it when humans dress their dogs with bandanas. anything beyond that is just sad.
Riley is a keeper!
I’m a cat person but Riley looks pretty good.
Daryl, Gus and Rosie are the best! They sent George a little bag and he went gagga for them. I tasted them and they’re really good!
Another excellent Riley post!
Bart, Bucky & Baby are jealous! LOL. Riley is a cutie!! I just love dogs!!!
God Bless~
Debbie
Riley, you are definitely one cool dog. Enjoy your cookies!
Our stove gives my wife a cookbook every Xmas. He sneaks into her office, floor to ceiling cookbooks (and at 650 lbs that is not easy o sneak) and looks for ones held together by rubber bands.
He does like the internet. When he sneaks he does tend to knock things off shelves, but he says it is the cats, Julia Child and James Beard, we had Escoffier for a while, but it turned out he wasn’t a stray, but a two-timer.
I love that dog. His questioning ear and tilt of his head cracks me up.
Ok, I have 5 little dog heads looking over my shoulders and they are very jealous of cousin Riley. Now I make lovely liver biscotti for them but they have never gotten a package in the mail. I guess I’ll go put some biscotti in an envelope before the next snack hour.
Rock on Riley! we love you!
