Hiding – just like springtime

We’ve had a few hints of spring, a day here or there with some rather balmy temperatures, some bright sunshine and a breathe of benevolent spring air. But then? Back down in the 20’s, or even the teens and an addition of more snow. 2 weeks ago, we got a total of nearly 40 inches of snow over a 10 day period.

You can tell, though. Even though there is still not a single square inch anywhere on our 2 acres that is free of snow. Even though it snowed this very afternoon, you can still feel a change. And, the birds certainly know – they can’t stay away any longer. You can see all the snow in the white background of this photo- this poor robin really had no place else to go. He sat there for hours, and I am sure finally gave up in disgust and headed for town where he would have a better chance of seeing some bare ground.robin in spring timeOr, he may have been scoping out his spot for a nest in a few weeks. We have had words on this subject before – or maybe it was just one of his relatives.  I was still really glad to see him.

Oh my goodness – I hadn’t been reading your blog yet when you did those other two posts about the robins. I’m so glad you put in those links, because I can really use a good laugh this morning. Thanks and have a great day, Roberta
