Six Suggestions for a Happy Life*

*Or – I have a lot of stray photos and nothing else to post about today.
1. Puppies and babies go together really well.2. It’s good to have something to look forward to – like zuchinni.3. Never go on a trip without your Smarties.4. A glass of wine on the porch before dinner is a very good thing. Even if the hay still needs to be mowed.5. Marry a man who likes to garden, so you can enjoy food like this. 6. End the day looking at this.

    Here is one more:
Make sure to tell the favorite people in your life you care about them often.

  2. dlyn says:

  5. Ruth Hull Chatlien says:

Puppies, babies, wine, veggies, love, and beauty. What more could anyone want?

    Well, maybe chocolate.

  6. Lori says:

Makes me want to sit on the porch, drink wine, get pregnant, adopt a puppy and watch a rainstorm. (Not in that order and not all at once, either…)

  7. Bear Naked says:

No need for words with photos like that.
    Thank You

Do you ever cook the zuchini blossoms?

I always wondered what they taste like.

    YR

  9. Pat - An Arkansas Stamper says:

I can’t argue at all with your choices. Well… I might substitute chocolate for the Smarties.

    I’m enjoying your posts.

  10. Ellyn says:

    you aren’t tooo bad either.

  11. Country Girl says:

Nothing to post about? I think not. I enjoyed this one immensely! What’s in the bowl of vegetables?

  12. dlyn says:

To everyone who suggested it – I can’t believe I forgot the chocolate – guess I will have to save that for my next essentials to life post!

Lori – all at once would certainly entertain the neighbors! LOL!

YR – fried squash blossoms taste like whatever you use to bread or batter them – in other words, darned yummy. We haven’t had them in a long time though because that would cut down on the zuchinni supply and we are absolute addicts. We eat it every single day that there is some in the garden that is ready.

CG – it is a chopped salad – lots of different mesclun greens, green onions and radishes from the garden. The rest, at this point in the early summer, still comes from the store – cukes, tomatoes [safe ones of course] red pepper, black olives, garbanzo beans – topped off at serving time with creamy feta cheese dressing. hmmmmmm – I feel a recipe post coming on!

    Glad you all enjoyed it!

Ooh, I get to go right after Lauren! I thought I should let you know (and Lauren will let out a startled gasp at this) that I have discovered that I now LIKE squash. It’s been nearly 25 years coming but now Lauren is all alone at the squash-hating table when we visit. Sorry baby, life goes on. :D
