See this guy? This is a snapping turtle.Do you think he looks grateful that we took him out of the road before he got hit by a car?

Wonderful photos of the snapping turtle.
How big was he?
Did someone say soup?
I love the face. He looks like a cranky old . . . er . . . codger. (keeping it family friendly, you know)
Looks cranky to me but I bet he’s glad you saved him. Nice close ups.
=)
Some people get no respect ……. some day he’ll thank you in glory. Until then …. he could start a new series of jokes …. why did the snapping turtle cross the road?
If you can get Salmonella from just touching a turtle, how can you make soup and survive eating it?
Great turtle pictures. Perhaps the old guy was trying to commit suicide.
He looks a bit soused to me. But great shots of this turtle!!
last one I picked up tp move out of the road tried to remove my finger as I tossed him into the ditch … ungrateful buggar… last one i saw FLEW as the tire of the dumptruck just caught the very edge of his shell… I nearly wrecked laughing at the flying turtle!
Love me some turtle!

Uh uh. Snapping turtles can fend for themselves on busy roads. I like my fingers intact, thank you very much!
A day without a Dlyn post is like a day without sunshine …. (especially when I am working on a Saturday, in an area with no windows, that is darkened for computer screen use.) See ‘ya Monday (if not sooner.)
awwww he is a cutie! when I lived in Oklahoma we called them “terrapins” are they the same thing?
What can you do? You did the right thing! Cranky turtle!
