Not as quiet as we could be Wednesday

Some of my favorite recent shots – hope you like them.

A lively little red squirrel. And, I don’t want to give out too much info, but word has it that this guy was pretty talkative when he stopped by…

This apple has been hanging on a tree over my mailbox all winter.

I love botanical prints and this reminds me of them – it is a dried astilbe flower from last summer.

The weather is still winter, but we are seeing more and more warmer weather birds. The house finches started showing up again last week.

This field is across the road.

Love the squirrel pic! Why is is that squirrels look adorable in pics but are annoying in person?

You’re my favorite photographer! My favorite is the squirrel!

I spent my lunch time checking out Bodum French Press coffee makers on Amazon…… interesting …. new to me. I’d like to try a cup!

I love the last scene of the field. The squirrel is so cute – we have very few around here and they are grey. Great photographs!

Ohhhh, I love the last one, with the trees and field. It is beautymus!

I love the finch, too! I like how his head is tilted as if to say, “Isn’t it spring yet?” We had snow here in TN today and there was a PARTY under my birdfeeder: Cardinals, a Blue Jay, 2 Gray Squirrels and several doves. If I had a better camera I would have taken some wanna-be-like-dyln wildlife shots!

Thanks everyone! We get two kinds of squirrels and chimpmunks under our bird feeder, which is the squirrel-proof kind so they can’t ravage a whole feeder full of food in one afternoon. They are fun to watch, so long as they stay away from the house.

The pic of the field amazes me too – the light that afternoon was just so gorgeous. I think the apple is my favorite of these though.

Despite getting nearly a foot of snow in the last 36 hours, we still have lots of getting-warmer birds showing up – yay!

Love the pics..the finch looks cold! Glad you are getting those brave warmer weather birds to lift your spirits.

Hello! I have been checking out your blog, thanks for visiting mine. I recognize a couple of your commentor’s names. Funny.

Love that hostas photo, the Whirlwind. We need to do some landscaping, I will have to remember the name of that one.

Potato salad recipe looks good too.

    Interesting blog. Great photos.

  13. Kristi Smith says:

And what is Hallie talking about? Squirrels are annoying . . . I love them! ;)

  14. dlyn says:

I’m glad you stopped over Kristi – hope you come back again :) Whirlwind is one of my favorite hostas. It looks more spectacular every year, but isn’t one that does very well with much sun – looks a lot nicer in a shadier spot.

I so enjoy your pics. You capture quiet nature beautifully. And apparently, noisy chattering nature too. (Don’t tell him my dogs chase his Dallas big-haired city cousins.)
