Not a fun week here at casa dlyn. Still have a little “blech” in my tummy. Then my computer started feeling a little “blech” too, so I am now working on getting a new one up and running before I have to go back to work. Switching to a brand new computer is kind of like cleaning out the fridge really well. There are no crusty surprises stuck off in the corner anymore, but nothing seems to be where it goes and you can’t really remember if you even put it all back there or not. Blech.
But, every day, not matter what else is going on, I have visitors. I can see them from nearly everywhere in the house. They are particularly likely to show up on a day like yesterday, when it is cold and blowy and snowy. They fight and chase each other and eat like pigs all day long. They eat a lot so feeding them is not cheap, but well worth the money for the show they put on.
Yesterday though, if they weren’t eating, they were mostly sitting all huddled into little round bundles to keep warm.
And for a little contrast, here is what the area around the feeder looks like in the summer.
I wonder if our feathered friends miss that green backyard as much as we do?
I love your back yard. It looks so peaceful. Great pictures too, especially the cardnial.
Missed ‘ya yesterday. It’s a boring lunch break without you. I’m drooling over your bird photos .. (or is it my baked chicken?). The little sparrow at the bottom is awesome. Great composition. I’m also imagining it in a watercolor painting with washy strokes of sublte grays and browns.
Good luck with the new PC.

Now I know how to make snow tolerable – drop a few gorgeous birds into the equation!!
How beautiful – thank you SO much for sharing..
Hallie
Thank you so much for visiting me…your photo’s are beautiful. I don’t have many “visitors” because we don’t have any mature trees.
Thanks everyone – I do love seeing them every day. And Mark, you are welcome to watercolor my photos to your little heart’s content – just send me one some time, ok?
D,
I so enjoyed looking at all the beautiful little birds in your area. They are real fattie patties, aren’t they? So cute! Still get a thrill when I see a Cardinal.
Janis
Wowsa! What kind of camera do you have?
Jessica – it is a Nikon D70 and I know just enough about it to really screw up nearly every picture I take. I throw away about 100 for every decent one I get. But it was 1 for every 200, so I guess I am improving. The one out the window was taken with a Nikon 5600. Thanks for stopping by!
love your little birds…and…I have never seen a cardinal in real life.. I don’t know if they come as far north as Calgary in Canada… Only ever seen them in pics but just knowing it is a real pic, by a real person..makes it kinda special.
tx for stopping by my blog…
I will be back to check out the recipes…I love to bake, especially biscotti ….
