This is the last of summer’s beauty this year – though I should call it fall’s beauty I suppose. A white anemone that was supposed to be a pink one, according to the nursery tag. And supposedly more suited to shade that most, though this one never gets past a couple of main shoots and maybe a dozen flowers. Other anemones can be quite thuggish, as my never ending battle with a “September Charm” out front can attest, but this one stays dainty and well mannered, never stepping out of bounds. Quite tough, for all that though, as this one has been through a couple of frosts and a lot of rain. The end of the garden for sure though, as it is snowing while I write this, making me glad for my snug house and a faithful dog at my feet.

Lovely last bloom of the season!
Thanks Jeanelle – it is hard to think about the long winter ahead, but fall is a bittersweet beauty.
I think that anemone is a victim of identity theft. Hence the white color. Her identity tags were switched. :)
