I can’t think of anything to say that will add to your experience as you view these pictures – I think they stand on their own merits. And now, we get to the GIVEAWAY! As part of my celebration of daily blogging for the last year, I am going to give some stuff away. Starting with this – the Gorham Holiday Traditions Angel of Peace Hurricane Lantern. Pretty cool, huh? To enter – please leave a comment describing your favorite Christmas [or other holiday] decoration, and why it is special to you. Then – if you mention the contest on your blog, Facebook or Twitter, please leave another comment and you will get an additional entry. Other than telling me that you have linked to the contest, please only leave one comment on this post. It is possible for one person to have 4 entries, which would include their original entry/comment plus Twittering, blogging and mentioning on Facebook. For those last two, I need to be able to see the mention, so please friend me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter and I will do likewise. Please leave a separate comment for each mention, so that I don’t miss any of them. The contest will run until Midnight EST on Wednesday, with the winner being announced Thursday afternoon, and is limited to those in US only. I will choose a winner with the Random Integer Generator. Riley wanted to choose the winner based on who promised him the most cookies, but I told him that would not be fair, so I am doing it this way instead. Good luck to everyone and thanks for spreading the word. And since I am back to work today, I am going to try and take the advice of this bumper sticker, also seen in the parking lot on Black Friday:have a great day!
Vacation is over – and a giveaway!
How was your Thanksgiving? Despite hellacious drives both ways, we had a great time. Good food, plenty for which to be thankful, and as always, cooking with my sister is fun.On Black Friday, she and I went shopping, as we always do. We never have an agenda for this shopping trip – we don’t hit the stores at 4:00AM or stand in line to get the latest electronic marvel. It’s all about lunch really – because of course we are starving after the sparse eating of the previous day. Due to the fact that we arrive a bit later in the morning, finding a parking space can be a little time consuming. While trolling amongst the parked cars, looking for a person with shopping bags, so we can stalk them and get their parking space, we ran across this example of ….. creativity:
My favorite decoration would be my Santa collection… I have hundreds and I adore them all :) I’ve come to be known as the “Santa Lady” by some ;)
Happy Blogversary sweetie! I love your blog!
I’m going to stumble and del.icio.us this entry too!
I may have mentioned you on my blog today. I love my big glittery harp!
Are those Pez dispensers???? Love it! My favorite Christmas decoration is my mother’s Dresden Angel collection. I have to get them out soon and marvel at their delicate hands….
Wow..that’s quite the car! Yikes! I think though, that I would like to meet the person who drives it..you gotta think to yourself, they must be a very interesting character!
Here by way of Asthma Girl’s place.

Facinating car… i too think seeing the driver would be interesting…the lamp is beautiful and my favorite decoration is a set of dolls a boy and girl in their christmas clothes on a little wooden bench that my dad got for me some time back.
OK I got you covered on my blog, facebook and twitter.
Going back to bed now.
Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving, D.
My favorite Christmas decoration is the grape vine wreath my sister and I wove together years ago out of our own grape vines and decorated ourselves.
My favorite Christmas Tree ornament is a mini lobster trap with sea gull perched on top that says, “Merry Christmas” on the side that my mom bought for me when she was on vacation in Boston, Mass.

I love my nativity given to me by a friend’s mom years and years ago. Thanks Sean’s Mom. I still love it.
I need that bumper sticker.
Great prize.
Oh man, I was hoping the prize was the car!
LOL!
Blessings,
iggy
Love the car. We have an art car society here on the island and so we get to see some occasionally. Never seen one covered in Pez dispensers though.
That car could have been in my little town of Marcola. There are quite a few people who parade their “decorated” cars in the annual Mary Cole Day parade. Funny. My favorite decoration is a balsa santa that plays beautiful Christmas music. My husband gave it to me many years ago.
My favorite Christmas decoration would have to be my creche. There’s a photo of it on Saturday’s post, if you’re interested.
My favorite is my Santa claus that stands about 2 foot tall. I LOVE Santa Claus’s!!
Ok, also left a note on my blog to come on over to your blog and enter!!
That car is special! And here I thought you were going to say that you were riding around IN that car…BWAHAHAHAHA!! My favorite decorations are my collection of miniatures that my daughter purchased for me when she was teeny tiny. She picked them out herself…little teeny, tiny candy cane container, little teeny cookie jar, little teeny tiny pack of reindeer food….I love each and every one of them. And no matter how much we downsize this house, those miniatures are going with me anywhere I go!!
My favourite decorations for Christmas is the wreath my daughter made from grape vines.
Bear((( )))
I wonder how long that car’s owner worked on it…I could certainly think of more interesting things to do!
My favorite Christmas decoration…my hand carved wood santas – just love ’em!
My favorite Christmas decoration is the sand dollar with my daughter’s name on it, made for her first Christmas. It’s pretty.
I did mention you on my blog monday!
I have a Saab. I love encrusting things. But that? That is not my car. I will however send those photos to my husband and tell him that I’m planning to do that to my car. Think he’ll have a heart attack?
Favorite Christmas decoration? The little foil dingle dangles that I inherited from my grandmother.
I plugged your contest on my blog.
