Mmmmm! I saw scapes at the FM and they made me nervous! … be nervous no more … this looks so easy and good!
PS – love the photo with the ingredients, especially the lemon and basil!
What a great idea. I love pesto.
Ok, so the photo didn’t happen, because I forgot. I try again to get one. But – this was just amazingly good! Definitely a good garlic flavor, but with no bite at all – just super delicious. I know what I’m doing with the rest of this year’s scapes for sure.
I’ve been getting lots of garlic scapes in my CSA box and from the farmer’s market. Garlic scape pesto is a seasonal favorite – this year, I tried making Swiss Chard Garlic Scape Pesto, and my family loved it. Lucky you have garlic scapes in your garden!
So that’s what I can do with all the scapes!! Awesome…thank you for sharing! :)
Jeanette – I am looking forward to many different pestos as the summer progresses. Swiss Chard will definitely be on the list.
You are welcome Kate – there are actually lots of recipes for them on other food blogs – just google and you will find tons of them.
These are the kind of posts I love. Simple ingredients featured and loved for their selves. Besides I love that you shared the not so greats with the greats as you got to know this ingredient. Yay. GREG
Thanks Greg – I am blessed to have a huge, very inspiring garden. And even more blessed to have my very own gardener in the person of my husband – I could never manage it alone!
