This is for the birds, man.

I had other plans for this morning, but events have intervened, sending me off in another direction. But I have this – a video of a late winter afternoon under the main bird feeder outside my kitchen window. You have to really stuff yourself to get through the night you know. Enjoy and see you in the morning!

Wish I could do that. We have a cat so must keep food in a feeder. Neat scene!

  2. Mental P Mama says:

They are busy! How do you keep the &&$^%$^% squirrels away?

  3. Trisha says:

Those birds are certainly packing it in, aren’t they? You have a nice variety of birds that gather for the afternoon “coffee club” gathering!

By the way, did you ever let us know if the same address for sending Lauren packages works?

  4. Laura ~Peach~ says:

between wild cats, hawks and other lovelies we have to keep the feeders way up but the birds congregate daily and are a complete joy to watch as they gorge LOL. Love the video!

  5. Deb says:

Words out…3 square meals a day at DonnaLyn’s place!

  6. Janis says:

Boy, that cardinal sure stands out. And what manners those birds have! They are very dignified and give each other plenty of elbow room.

  7. Ashleigh says:

    how cute is that!

  8. CM says:

I turned up the volume but I couldn’t hear your documentary narration! ; )

  9. Flea says:

Yeah. I never understood why people thought it was a compliment to say someone eats like a bird. They’re total pigs. And mean.

TSAnnie – we don’t have any cts ourselves but there are some in the neighborhood. They are spectacalrly unsuccessful at ever catching any birds, for which I am very grateful.

MPM – we do have squirrels on the ground which is fine with me. The feeder right above this spot is a squirrel-proof one that actually works. Only an occasoinal very resourceful red squirrel is light enough and limber enough to get anything. They don’t try that much – there is plenty for them on the ground I guess.

Thanks Trish – and no, the address is not the same. Can you send me an email at dlynk @ htva . net and I will be happy to send it to you.

Laura – we do get some cats as I said and an occasional hawk, but we rarely lose a bird to any predators.

Deb – I think you are right!

Janis – they aren’t usually so nice – they had been there for awhile so they were getting full so they are more polite. I knew you would like that Cardinal :)

    LOL – Thanks Ashleigh!

CM – I did this from inside the house. If I go outdoors, they all fly away :)

Flea – you got that right, but I love them anyway!
