I was making a list of the giveaways I have planned this month, when I realized that once again, someone was staring at me.
Me: Can I help you with something?
Riley: Well first, I am in a very nice down – I should get a cookie for that, don’t you think?
Me: I think that only works if I have actually told you to lay down, doesn’t it?
Riley: I don’t see any reason to put a lot of restrictions on things like this. It just makes life more stressful.
Me: You may have a point – I will get you a cookie in a minute. Was there anything else?
Riley: I noticed you are having all these giveaways this month.
Me: That’s right. I am celebrating daily blogging for a whole year and thanking everyone who visits here every day.
Riley: I want to give something away! People on your blog LOVE me! You know they do! Can I have a giveaway too? I think I should. Don’t you think I should have a giveaway too?
Me: That is a very nice idea actually. Did you have something in mind?
Riely: How about this Kurt Adler “Best Dog” Christmas ornament?
Me: That is very cute – but what if someone doesn’t have a dog?
Riley: There are people without a dog?
Me: Yes – a lot actually.
Riley: Well they don’t know what they are missing!
Me: I have to agree with you there.
Riley: If they don’t have a dog, they can just put it on their tree for me – I am a pretty good dog. Or they can give it to another dog for Christmas!
Me: Well, I am sure they will figure something out.

Riley: Let’s not bring UPS into the discussion. Can I have my cookie now? They are right up there, on that counter, in the cannister with a wooden top. See – right up there! C’mon, c’mon – right up there!
Me: Good dog!

The Brute Squad is already squabbling over who really is the best dog.
I asked the doggage what their favorite cookie is and they refuse to pick a favorite, they claim to love all cookies the same.
I’m here to tell you though, I think they’re more partial to Meaty Bone biscuits..which is why we zip through a box in three days.

Oh my. Smokey just loves that ornament, so he’s begging me to enter. He’s says that he’s a black dog just like Riley, so shouldn’t that count for extra?
Oops, I forgot to say that Smokey’s favorite cookie is a little round cheese one but he doesn’t get them very often. His most frequent treat is a baby carrot, which he loves in spite of the fact that it’s healthy.
Yum, cookies… I agree, bacon is good, but almost anything from my owner’s plate is especially good! I really like that cookie the bi-peds call “Filet Mignon” … now that’s gotta be my fav..

I was directed here by Ruth from Ruth’s Visions and Revisions, and our chi-weenie Zeus has his little round pop-eyes all over that ornament…but, since this is our first visit, I told him we shouldn’t be entered because there are many faithful daily viewers who deserve it more than us.

OOHHH, Bandit saw Riley and then he saw the ornament and since he is soo smart and can read, he says he is the world’s best dog, so it must be for him!!
