We have had a lot of exciting things going on around here. Family members coming out our ears. Grandmothers turning 100 years old. Family reunions. All of my family in the same place for the first time since 1987. Many enjoyable hours passed on the front porch, in the company of loved ones and various tasty libations. All wonderful things and not to be missed or forgotten.
But – do you see this vehicle entering my driveway? This vehicle holds the key to my present and future happiness. It contains something I have long waited to see, and something that indeed, I had despaired of ever being party to in my lifetime.Even if I live as long as Grandma Simmons, I never thought I’d be able to pick up my phone and call a place that would bring this to my house. You know, if you read here much at all, that we live out in the middle of nowhere. And never ever ever in the many years we have lived here has any business delivered pizza to our house. If we called and asked, they about killed themselves laughing at the idea that anyone on the planet would drive all the way out here for delivery. But on a whim, I called to check about the new pizza place in the next town over. When I told her the road we live on, she said “We deliver there all the time.” I swear that the heavens opened and light poured down when I heard those words. There may have been angels singing. And such pizza it is! I was prepared to be accepting of a slightly less than stellar offering, in the interest of not having to drive to pick it up. That interrupts cocktail hour, you know. But this pizza has a delightful chewy crust, luscious sauce and generous, yummy toppings. Rossi’s Pizza in Owego NY totally rocks. And you did catch the part about them delivering, right?
Is that spinach pizza? Any left over??
YEAH! Delievery pizza is one of the best things in life! I am glad you found a place that will deliver to you! It looks delicious.
Those look so good. No problem getting delivery her. My problem is, it’s too much pizza for one person. What is the “green” pizza. I’d like to try that.! :)
LOL being in the city makes me forget sometimes how simple the pleasures of convenience can be – I was reminded of this even moving to a smaller town.
yay for pizza
The green pizza is a white garlic and broccoli one – delish!
Now if we could just get Chinese, I would never have to cook again!
It is really good pizza, I know because I was here to share in Dlyn’s new found joy (read obsession).
That green pizza is a white pizza with broccoli and garlic. Oh my! to die for! Iwonder if there’s any of that left……
LOL!!! …. and you are already making it worth the wait! …. and after all you do live near the Coolest Little Town in the USA!
WOW! I knew you lived in the country, but I guess I didn’t realize how far out in the country! Sounds like the city is coming to you. Congrats on being able to “order in”
It wasn’t REALLY on a whim… the good pizza joints you knew about were closed. Rossi’s was delicious though, they definitely deserve some advertisement.
Yum! Now I want pizza, but my favorite place doesn’t deliver, even though I only live a block away.
I know exactly what you mean!! We had a similar situation when we discovered a place that will deliver a pizza to us in Henderson Harbor! We were so happy!! Looks delicious! Glad you had a good time!
OMG. You are hilarious! We never get pizza delivered to the places we’ve lived because it was just not done. I haven’t had delivery pizza in 15 years. What a blessing to call and have this wonderful stuff delivered. Oh, happy day for you!!
I am so jealous. We can’t get delivery here. We can’t get cable tv either. I’m lucky to get DSL for internet! That only happened about 2 years ago! My mom and dad still have to use dial up!
