Playing catch-up

We’ll get back to daylilies next Saturday. This morning, I have to get some of these tags taken care of, cause I am getting quite a pile of them.

First – Flea tagged me with the Page 123 meme:
Here are the instructions:
1. Pick up the nearest book ( of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people. & post a comment here once you post it to your blog, so I can come see.
Okay – the nearest book to me is Adobe Photoshop Elements6 Classroom in a Book. Wow – can things get any more exciting that that?
Here is what it says:
“Web galleries come in a variety of layouts and designs and are optimized for viewing images on a web page. hanging on every word, aren’t you? For this project, you will work on an imaginary birth anouncement using an animated template. for sure the birth anouncement will be imaginary! The Online Gallery wizard will guide you through the process of adding photos, applying web page layouts and background styles, writing captions, previewing in the Browser and sharing the files. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz The Online Gallery wizard only lets you arrange photos, not edit them. pretty darn bossy if you ask me.
And there are no more sentences on this page – just a big photo of an extremely goofy looking guy who I sincerely hope did not father the child that will be mentioned in the imaginary birth announcement.
I know you were hoping for something more uplifting, like a good roaring bodice ripper novel with heaving bosoms and steely thighs, but this is the best I can do.
Maybe these fine folks can be more entertaining:
I am tagging Kelly, Weezee, Kellan, imbeingheldhostage and
Amy

Country Girl tagged me with the 6 quirks meme again. Not that difficult, finding 6 more quirks, but I asked my sister Weezee if she could think of any quirky things about me.
1. “That you are probably the best sister on the planet and you are so modest about it.” See? I knew she could help.

Okay, okay – what she really said was
1. “That it takes you like an hour to eat a small plate of food might be considered quirky.” I can’t really argue with this – though my sister in law Janet eats even more slowly that I do.
2. It is wierd that you never move your furniture around at all, and even put furniture in your new house right where it was in your old house. I like things where I like them – why mess around with perfection? Besides, you are a furniture-moving freak.

Then I asked Larry if I had any quirks that he could think of and he said that I do not. Seriously – he could not think of a single one. Maybe when you’ve been married to someone for 30+ years, you are just numb to their existing quirks and praying that they don’t develop too many new ones. And I do cook all his food so he has to be careful what he says. Not much help though.

I guess I will have to think up my own.
3. I always save the best for last. This is in regards to food on my plate. If I am at your house and I eat up something quickly, it probably means that I don’t like it, rather than that I do. If I liked it, I would eat it last.
4. I am a Chapstick addict. It has to be the real deal, name brand Chapstick and only in mint. I keep one in every possible place I might ever need it – desk, bedside table, car, bathroom, kitchen, purse, camera bag. Thinking about not having a Chapstick in easy reach makes me very nervous.
5. I am really really scared of spiders. I used to make Larry kill them for me, but he is simply not motivated enough to suit me, and rather blase if he happens to miss killing one, so I usually do them in myself. Preferably with a cinderblock or a 12 gauge shotgun. Or both.
6. I am now unable to hold a phone up to my own ear. Between the bluetooth for my cell and the headset for the house phone, I am totally spoiled about this. Phones are very heavy and my arm gets all tired and I can’t play Astropop as well if I have to hold the phone up to my ear. wah!
And I am tagging
Laura B, PG, Jennifer, Sara, PirateHooker and Marie
Rules: Post 6 quirky things about yourself. Tag 6 people, leaving a comment on their blog so they know and posting a comment here, so that I know I can come and see how quirky you are.

Laura B tagged me with this one, by virtue of my visting her blog.
You have 10 Million dollars and you have to spend it all or you don’t get to keep any of it. You can’t save the 10 mil or give it to charity outright – and you have to spend it all.

-I can’t give it to charity, but there is no reason I can’t fill our church’s food pantry from floor to ceiling is there?
-I am sure I can figure out other things charity-wise to do with it that don’t entail actually giving the money itself.
-I would have a REALLY nice computer system, with all the best printer, scanner, speaker, hard drive backin-up stuff I could find.
-I would buy new cars for everyone in our family.
-Probably build a new house, but probably build it right here. Can you pre-pay your property taxes I wonder, cause I would do that if I could.
-Oh the camera I would buy – you just can’t even imagine. And all my lenses would be the anti vibration kind.
-Take all the family on a really nice vacation together. Someplace luxurious and completely out of character for us.
-I would buy every really expensive daylily I ever wanted.

And all of that still would not go through even half the money probably. But then, taxes would probably take the other half anyway, so maybe I would be in good shape.

If you read this, consider yourself tagged and let us know in comments here when you have this on your blog.

Happy Saturday!

I have a friend who feels about Carmex the way you do about Chapstick. She says it’s an addiction. How bizarre!

And the furniture? I’m with ya. But my husband loves moving it every six months, so it never stays put here.

  2. Amy says:

  5. Weezee says:

Thanks for the tag, it’s just what I needed today. :>)

  7. Julie says:

That’s quite the list of tags you’ve got going on! I promise not to send any more your way. This darn blog every day challenge I’m in has me stumped for something to post some days.

  8. dlyn says:

Oh I don’t mind them Julie – like you said – they come in handy and I think they are pretty fun.

  9. Burgh Baby's Mom says:

Really? You don’t move the furniture around? You really ought to try it; it’s a lot of fun!

I do the “eat the yucky stuff first” thing, too, especially when I’m at someone’s house. Might as well just get it over with, right?
