You kill me, woman. Are you saying that if I alter this a bit, I can have Little Debbies oatmeal creme pies anytime I want? YOU. Are a miracle worker.

  2. wonderful wonderful!

This is just not nice! …. putting raisins and applesauce in a whoopie pie! … don’t you know these things are supposed to be just chocolate and vanilla icing … that’s why they are called Whoppie Pies!?!

Well I think it’s nice to see a sweet treat with a little nutritional value in it. I like this idea. I just got a KitchenAid mixer (really reasonable) on http://www.katom.com

They are a restaurant equipment store that sells baking supplies, and I can’t wait to try these out. You are my stand mixer’s inspiration

Hi. I haven’t been blogging for a while and only just started getting back into the swing of things.

Those cookies look wonderful. I’ve been toying with the idea of making some pâte sucrée (for some thumbprint cookies), so maybe this will finally give me the impetus to get up off my butt.

    Best,

    S.

Thanks everyone – sorry for not answering earlier comments – I was on vacation last week.

Flea – I will see what I can do to come up with a recipe closer to Little Debbies ;)

Deeba – I think everything is easier than macarons, right?

  14. These looks just wonderful, and I’m with Deeba in terms of getting a whoopee feeling just thinking of the combination of flavors you’ve used here. I’m still getting up my courage to attempt an assault on a filled cookie like this, and yours has inspired me to try. Many thanks for sharing your recipe.

Thanks Barbara – I feel the same way about filled cookies – like they are too much of a pain in the butt, but then once you taste the result, it is all worth it!

  16. Whoopie pies are on my (long) list of things to bake (along with macarons!). Thanks for providing a different slant on these. They look great.
