If you spend any time on my blog at all, you know that our daughter, son in law and grandkids have been staying with us while they buy a house. Apparently, word has gotten out that there is a lot of hospitality to be found in these parts. My friend Flea over at Formica Fields had asked me to keep an eye out for her bovine companions who seem to have run away from home, because she had heard a rumor that they headed east. So I have been sort of looking to see if they might show up. It seems they had seen this post, where one of the photos has my cow soap dispenser in it and noticed my mention of the fact that he is not the only cow I have around here.
Yesterday, we were sitting out on the porch, enjoying the unseasonably warm weather when I noticed a bit of movement up near the road. I ran right up there and look who I found!
Their time on the road seems to have made them a little wild, or maybe they are just enjoying their independance, but so far I haven’t been able to persuade them to come inside. I did convince them to at least come down off the road to the edge of the driveway.Later in the evening, we did see them getting a little drink in the birdbath. Then this morning, I spotted them breakfasting at the bird feeder. It is squirrel-proof, but apparently not cow-proof.After this, they scampered off into the woods. I will continue trying to lure them into the house, but I suspect they may have left home because they felt a loss of control over their lives and I not sure they want to go back to that again. And someone should let Flea know where they are – I don’t have the heart to tell her myself.
Crack. Me. Up.
I heard about these cows in the local paper. I think they were last seen at Disney!
Too funny!
=)
very funny!
If Flea can handle a pet snake latching onto her thumb until she almost drowns it …. I think she can handle the loss of her kissing cows. I think you can lure them into the house with a magnet!
What I would really like to see is photos of a little blond, blue eyed 3 year old that is bemused by Grandma’s photo shoots and stories …. I bet it’s too cute.
Well I can understand them wanting to be there. It’s one of my favorite places to visit. I bet you can lure them in with your famous zucchini fritters!
CM you crack me up, a magnet. :-)
Nice!
Nice!
I don’t know what’s funnier… seeing the ‘cows’ moving along… or picturing a grandma placing cow figurines all over the yard. hee hee!!
So FUNNY!!! Thanks for the story and the laughs!
Have a good day – Kellan
Oh! My babies are in the wilds of your yard! And they don’t want the comfort of the house? One of the cows is missing a magnet, but maybe she’ll follow Fred in. Thank you for finding the bovines!
I will keep working on it Flea. I have to say that they look very happy out there n the jungle/yard. Kind of like those happy California cows in the commercials. I will update as soon as I know more.
FREAKING HILARIOUS! I so do get amused easily!
You’re a nut!! Love it.
Pure silliness. You ladies have made my week with the kow krazies!
LOL!!!
What a clever story — I love it. And I too enjoy the picture of you out in the yard positioning little cow figures.
