On her way

I don’t write about this a whole lot, but our very own Sgt. is beginning the process that will find her in Iraq in a couple months. Her unit leaves today for their final phase of predeployment preparation. She has been in the Army for 6 years and this is her first deployment so she has been more fortunate thus far than a lot of others. We are praying Psalm 91 for her every day if you would like to join us. And please keep her husband, Steve in your prayers too. It is going to be a tough year for him as well.

You can count on prayers from me. One of our teachers at school has a husband that’s been over since last September. Came home for a week at Christmas, and she just learned he’s coming home for good on Wednesday. She’s floating on air, as are the children. Good wishes for your Sgt.

I will certainly keep her in my prayers. Psalm 91 will be posted at my house, too, as a reminder to me to pray for her and all of our other people there.

Ugh. I’ve got a whole slew of friends and families overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other bases so I know just how hard the buildup to leaving can be. My thoughts are with y’all.
