Even fall is fleeing fast now – we had a touch of snow in the wind this morning, and though the sun is out now, the air has a sharpness we haven’t felt since back in March. I think this is a Christmas Fern. It has been out here in a corner of the shade garden for a couple years. It came in a pack with a couple different varieties, and the scrap of paper where I had scribbled a quick drawing of the locations of each kind, went through the washer, which made it kind of hard to read, so they are forever, collectively “mystery ferns”.\"\" I have to work on Sunday, so I took today off. I am making enchilada sauce from dried chilies which is turning out to taste quite impressive. I have lots of laundry to fold and floors to clean, but I decided to take a minute to post this instead. In awhile, I’ll use the sauce to make a batch of chicken, black bean and cheese enchiladas. The laundry will get put away, Larry will get home and cocktail hour will feature Otter Creek’s Stovepipe Porter, because it is my favorite with Mexican food.
