It is invasive and nearly impossible to kill. In the winter though, the stalks take on lovely subtle colors and forms:<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/bp3.blogger.com\/_8YuevXJXjqg\/R9dJCUzdhhI\/AAAAAAAAA_I\/59q8W8hi90k\/s1600-h\/bamboo_03_09_08.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5176686600978794002\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/bp3.blogger.com\/_8YuevXJXjqg\/R9dJCUzdhhI\/AAAAAAAAA_I\/59q8W8hi90k\/bamboo_03_09_08.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>No Wednesday can go by without a shot of a bird:<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/bp0.blogger.com\/_8YuevXJXjqg\/R9dJCkzdhiI\/AAAAAAAAA_Q\/oyNhGRdC6pY\/s1600-h\/blue_jay.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5176686605273761314\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/bp0.blogger.com\/_8YuevXJXjqg\/R9dJCkzdhiI\/AAAAAAAAA_Q\/oyNhGRdC6pY\/blue_jay.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>This time of year, our little creek runs nearly all the time. It is literally just a few feet from my back door.
