\"windmill,Hello again! I hope you all had a wonderful time during the holidays. We certainly did. It was so good to all be together again this year. Lauren and Steve were here for a couple weeks, and then we all trekked north for an intensely white Christmas. It was a blast.

Grandchildren - don't tell them to say "cheese".<\/p><\/div>I enjoyed a little time off, though I spent some of it working on some plans for this blog for the upcoming year, and trying to get a new project off the ground [more about that soon].<\/p>\n

\"\"I joined Recipe Girl’s 10in10<\/a>\u00a0project, where a bunch of food bloggers and other folks are working together to get\u00a0healthier in whatever way they\u00a0need to.\u00a0 All are welcome to join, and Twitter makes it easy to keep up – just look for the #10in10 hashtag.\u00a0 My goals are pretty simple – eat less, move more.\u00a0 I’ll be blogging some\u00a0healthier recipes and posting on Saturdays regarding progress and challenges.<\/p>\n

Oh yeah – challenges.\u00a0\u00a0Would crutches be a challenge I wonder?\u00a0 Probably.\u00a0 I\u00a0slipped on a wet floor and\u00a0sprained my knee last Thursday, so crutches and I have become good friends these past few days.\u00a0 Incidently, I do not recommend falling on a wet floor and spraining one’s knee\u00a0as a way to celebrate New Years Eve.\u00a0 And in case you are wondering, this happened before<\/em> any celebrating had time to begin.\u00a0 It is finally starting feel a little better, though it looks just awful, with every color in the crayola box rioting about on the back of my leg.\u00a0 I don’t do well with\u00a0the majority of\u00a0painkillers, so I am mostly just whimpering and sucking my thumb.\u00a0 On the upside, despite a lot of swelling, I have dropped a few pounds over the weekend, so I guess I will call that the start of 10in10.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen if cameras and tripods mingle gracefully with crutches, but I will figure something out so that I can get some new recipes up.\u00a0 I have a few that I didn’t get around to posting before Christmas, so you’ll get to see those in the next few days.<\/p>\n

I am excited about the things coming up in this next year, and crutches to the contrary, I am ready to start working on goals of all kinds. I am looking forward to sharing a lot of it all with you guys. Here is a litle treat for those of you who sent prayers and good wishes for us last Christmas, when Lauren was in Iraq – I took this a few days ago, on the gloomy, frigid morning when they were leaving to head back to Georgia.\"\"<\/p>\n
