A couple of killing frosts have taken the last of the growing vegetables in the garden.  We have a lot stored up, but no more fresh beans or zucchini for us this year.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/dlynz.com\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/tree4.jpg\" alt=\"tree4\" title=\"tree4\" width=\"600\" height=\"381\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3305\" srcset=\"http:\/\/dlynz.com\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/tree4.jpg 600w, http:\/\/dlynz.com\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/tree4-300x190.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>And on an exceptionally warm evening, cocktail hour may be held on the porch one last time, but for the most part it takes place indoors now.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/dlynz.com\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/tree1.jpg\" alt=\"tree1\" title=\"tree1\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3308\" srcset=\"http:\/\/dlynz.com\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/tree1.jpg 600w, http:\/\/dlynz.com\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/tree1-300x190.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>The hummingbirds left a month ago.  The geese are flying south and the robins are gone.  Yard work requires wearing a warm sweatshirt. It has always been a favorite of hers and I wanted to send her a little taste of home.  She was in Iraq, which long time readers will remember, but newer ones may not know.  I didn&#8217;t dare think ahead to the time when she would be home, just being thankful for each day that brought her return closer.  Thinking about it now, I am blessed right down to my socks that this morning she is at home in Georgia, probably baking bread, as she is enjoying a strong dose of domesticity while Steve finishes school.
