Hi, Donalyn!

This looks wonderful, and you really do have a talent for presentation (and photography), but when I read "a tablespoon of 5-pepper blend peppercorns, lightly crushed with a mortar and pestle" I laughed out loud! IF I OWNED a mortar and pestle, and I got it out to crush peppercorns, Hubby would have me committed before I was even able to enjoy the shrimp!

Honestly, I think owning a mortar and pestle that you actually use, rather than just for decoration, makes you a chef -- not a cook. :)

I've been eating shrimp (probably averaging a pound or so every two weeks) for nearly 68 (SIXTY-EIGHT) years now, and it hasn't hurt MY body a bit!

I still down-hill snow ski. I still walk two miles per day. I still workout in the gym. I still take my cruiser, the Elizabeth Ann, on 200 to 300 mile trips.

Thanks Jane!

Shirley - what a great memory to have! Shrimp is surprisingly reasonably priced actually - about $6 a pound at our local supermarket. That is not bad for something you can use to feed 4 people in an alfredo sauce with pasta or with a tomatoey-rice dish. Or be hogs like us and just feed two people which isn't too bad either :)

Sorry to hear that Rachel - I understand following dietary laws though.

Linda - the serving spoon is from Crate and Barrel, an evil, evil place that gets 'way too much of my money. ;)

This looks good... except I don't eat shrimp. :( not good for your body. I love popcorn shrimp too, but we don't eat it at all, so I can't have any.

Your story brought back memories of my Dad and I going down to the fishing boats in Savannah, Georgia and buying fresh shrimp. That was when it was cheap. We grew up on fresh seafood. Yummy!!!
